The garage workshop.
A big room annexed
To its southern side,
Running almost its length.
We aren’t a family of DIY’s
(except for Stephen’s tinkerings
and Poppy, when he visits).
With temporary lodgers (1 adult, 3 kids)
Soon moving in,
Decision easier.
Hurrah!

Through Nana’s back door.
2 stairs up – terraced backyard, level 1.
Across grass, down 3 steps.
The door opens into dark.
An aromatic mix of scents:
Freshly sawn wood, oil & grease,
Metal & machinery.
Dirt floor.
Lights!
A wall of worn tools.
Glass jars full.
Poppy’s Garage.
Grandkids gold mine.
