The change,
New school, elevated responsibility,
School loyalty and student loyalty.
Somewhat resisted,
And enforced limiting of distractions,
No TV, no “treehouse gang” (or the like),
The Medal.
In gold letters on shiny maple honours board,
And medal awarded,
1967 Dux.
Gives me choice for high school.

Infant school bus-stop at Kingswood Station.
Route to bus-stop is shortcuts, tracks, distractions – especially for 6 y.o.
The map: A = home; B = bus stop. The path between A & B was full of entertaining distractions.
Uhoh!!
Bus leaves – without me. What now?

First time truancy, if accidental … failed.
